About the work

I grew up on Long Island, which means I grew up on boats. The way they sit sleepily in a harbor at dawn, the way a spinnaker catches the light on a broad reach, the way the warm setting sun reflects off a hull, and the peace of pulling into a harbor at night. Most of my photography starts there - on or near the waters of Long Island.

The rest of it follows wherever life goes. Boston for higher education and to root against the Red Sox - the Charles, the Prudential Skywalk at night, and - yes - storied Fenway Park (I'm man enough to admit how special this place is). NYC, both by land and by sea - the FiDi skyline at night, 4th of July fireworks from the East River looking down towards Lady Liberty. Stadiums and arenas across the country - from The Garden to the Gaylord to places a mile in the sky. A travel album that documents some of the short list of places I've been to. And, of course, two albums dedicated to Kai and Long Island - two entities that have played a bigger role in who I am than I could really express.

I try to capture what's in front of me, mostly. No constructed scenes and (hopefully) minimal edits - just an appreciation for the things I am lucky to be able to see.

He was briefly mentioned, but one shoutout isn't enough for the big man. Kai is my best friend and the lieutenant of my pack (also the first member). He is loyal, fun-loving, adventurous, and right by my side for many of the best photos on this website. The website will always honor Kai, and he's earned it - whether by padding down to the water's edge at sunrise or riding shotgun on the way to wherever the light leads next. I am a better person than I was before Kai came into my life, and the version of me that you know doesn't exist without him.

Along with photography, I also really like hip-hop and may attempt to combine the two in a "Words" section of this website. Bear with me if it stinks!
